My Daughter’s Big Realization About Ruby Bridges 💡

On Monday, my daughter came rushing through the door, so excited about a movie she watched about Ruby Bridges. She was absolutely stunned to learn that Ruby was only six years old when she had to walk into school while being yelled at, screamed at, and even spit on—escorted by U.S. Marshals for her safety. My daughter was horrified by how terribly Ruby was treated and was shocked to find out that Ruby is still alive, even younger than her Nana and Papa. It brought back memories of when I first learned about Mrs. Bridges and couldn’t believe she was younger than my parents.
