2022 goals: Let's make a vision board!

Goal: The object of a person's ambition or effort; an aim or desired result.

Have you ever set a goal?

Was it hard to achieve?

What did you learn?

It’s important to set goals for ourselves. It helps us get out of our comfort zone and do hard things. When we try something new, we learn something brand new about ourselves. This is where you might find out you really love to play the guitar, paint, dance, play soccer, climb, code, sew, garden and more. Passions are discovered by doing!!

Let’s create a vision board for the next year and set some goals to work towards. Remember, goals can be simple and achieved daily or require a lifelong commitment.

Here are two examples:

  • Daily goal: Be kind to one person each day
  • Lifelong goal: Playing an instrument or hiking the 10 tallest mountains.

Think about both types of goals when you make your vision board!

Here are some questions to help kids get started:

  • What words inspire you?
  • What is important to you right now?
  • What is something you want to learn this year?
  • What places in the world would you like to visit?
  • How do you want to be a helper in this world?

What you will need:

  • Poster board
  • Scissors
  • Magazines or newspaper
  • Markers
  • Tape or glue
  • Construction paper
  • Your brain

Think about your goals and find pictures or words that represent how that feels to you!! Cut them out and stick them to your board. Remember, this is your board, your goals, your dreams… so make it whatever you want! Once your child’s board is finished, have them pick out a spot in their room to hang it so they can easily read it daily!
