Script: Talking to Kids About War

A script to Kids About War: A Peaceful Conversation

✅Tip: Have this conversation in a calm, reassuring voice. Your tone helps your child feel safe and supported.

I want to talk to you about something serious that happened.

Our country’s president made the decision to bomb another country, Iran. This happened because Iran and another country, Israel, have not been getting along for a long time. The bombing took place thousands of miles away—very far from where we live.

In our family, we don’t agree with this choice. We believe there are better ways to solve problems between countries, like talking, listening, or finding ways to share and work together—even when we don’t see eye to eye.

You might hear adults or even kids use the word “war.” That word can sound scary. But we want you to know:
✅ You are safe.
✅ We are here to talk.
✅ And it’s always okay to ask questions.

In our family, we believe in peace. We wish our leaders had made a different decision, and we hope people everywhere can find better ways to solve disagreements.

If you’re feeling worried or scared, that’s okay and completely normal. A lot of adults are feeling that way too.

We’re here to listen and help you understand. Bottom line: we want you to know you are safe, and we are here for you.

Do you have any questions or thoughts about what’s going on?

Keep the conversation going...
